At PullUp, we believe in keeping things simple and transparent. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we don't do with it.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up for PullUp, we collect:

• Username: Your display name in the app
• Email address: For login, notifications, and account recovery
• Profile avatar: Optional profile picture
• Password: Stored securely using industry-standard encryption

Activity & Participation Data

To make PullUp work (leaderboards, streaks, points), we track:

• Workout sessions: When you join a room, how long you stay
• Points and streaks: Your earned points, daily streaks, challenge completions
• Leaderboard rankings: Your position relative to other users
• Room participation: Which rooms you've joined (public or private)

Video Session Data

During live video rooms:

• Real-time video/audio streams: Transmitted peer-to-peer for live sessions
• Not recorded or stored: We do NOT record or save video/audio content unless you explicitly request it
• Session metadata: Room names, participant lists, and session timestamps

What We DON'T Collect

PullUp is a social fitness app, not a health tracker. We do NOT collect:

• Medical or health information
• Biometric data (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.)
• GPS location or precise geolocation
• Contact lists or phone numbers
• Third-party app integrations (Fitbit, Apple Health, etc.)

How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Operate the app: Enable video rooms, leaderboards, streaks, and challenges
• Authenticate you: Log you in securely and verify your account
• Send notifications: Alert you about challenges, room invites, or app updates (if you opt in)
• Improve the experience: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and build better features
• Provide support: Respond to your questions or issues

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely:

• Encrypted in transit: All data sent between your device and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Encrypted at rest: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt; sensitive data is encrypted in our database
• Hosted infrastructure: We use industry-standard cloud hosting providers (Render, Neon) with strong security practices

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Immediate deletion: Your profile, email, and personal data are permanently removed
• Leaderboard history: Anonymized stats may remain for historical leaderboard rankings (no personal identifiers)
• Video sessions: Already deleted in real-time (we don't store recordings)

Sharing Your Data

We do NOT sell your data. Period.

We may share your data only in these limited cases:

• With your crew: Your username, avatar, points, and streak are visible to other users in public rooms and leaderboards
• Service providers: Cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics tools (they're contractually required to protect your data)
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect safety

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
• Correction: Update or fix inaccurate information in your profile
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from notifications via your account settings

Cookies & Tracking

We use minimal tracking:

• Session cookies: Keep you logged in while using the app
• Analytics: Anonymous usage data to understand how people use PullUp (no personal identifiers)
• No third-party ads: We don't use advertising trackers

Children's Privacy

PullUp is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app notification. Continued use of PullUp after changes means you accept the updated policy.
